A poem a day – 10 minute poem – Running rooster bowl

Running rooster bowl

Running rooster circling the world
chasing sun and signs of life
into forests, jungles and open space
first to call, sense before sight
always chasing, busy, on the go

time to eat
but you don’t stop running
on the look out
ready for more
thank you rooster
heaven knows and sees your effort.

Note: A little late off the mark for me today. Anyhow, here’s today’s quick poem. I’ve been looking forward to/enthused about my daily quick poem exercise. Today, I decided to take photos of a few different objects/topics for the poems. Tomorrow, when I write a new poem, I will have a topic ready (unless I change my mind at the last minute), which means that I will have a total of 10 mins to just write/type the poem. Knowing what the topic is means that I have prior time to think what to write about, but I’ll try not to think too much about the topic beforehand because I want the exercise to be impromptu. Perhaps, I’m worrying too much about this aspect? Anyhow, I finished the guts of the above poem in 8 mins, but used the remaining 2 mins to edit. I like the bowl and I like this poem. New poem tomorrow. Thank you!
