I kid you not, every time I see your Wordless Wednesday photo, I get a chill rush. You have an amazing gift to depict emotion and mood with a single image. This one is eery!

      Hi Nagi,

Thanks for your comment! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the WW photos. They’re quite varied/mixed/random but helps give the blog a different facet. I really appreciate your kind comments and constructive feedback. This one is a little ominous and mysterious but it’s simply a flying roadside council/surveyor marking ribbon/tape. I think it might indicate the property line and that the area might be a hazard, hence the clearing near it. I’ve always wondered what it meant. The pink colour catches my eye. Best wishes! :D

      Hi Claire,

Thanks for your visit and comment. It was quite bizarre to see random pink ribbons/tape at the side of the road and not knowing what it meant/why it was there added to the mystery. The overlapping ribbon shape, barbed wire and cleared area does add to the drama too – lol. Oh, and there’s a setting sun also. But pink is a beautiful and hopeful colour. Best wshes! :)

      Hi image-in-ing,

Thank you for your comment! Yes, it’s quite a mystery to me too. I did some research online and I think it’s some sort of council/surveyor marking tape/ribbon that has various meanings, from indicating a property boundary, hazard areas/zones, etc. I think that some surveyors who uses the tapes also use different colours to mean different things. Thanks for the link up. Best wishes! :D

      Hi Jem,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, in retrospect and in a way, it does look a little spooky but the pink shines through. I guess the rusty barbed wire and the symbolism of the ribbon as being commemorative/awareness of some sort (in this case, pink for breast cancer) adds a looming silence/mystery there also. Though, at the end of the day, it’s nothing to be scared about. It’s simply a pretty flying pink ribbon/tape that served a practical purpose. Best wishes! :)
