A poem a day – Haiku – Sugar sachet

A poem a day – Haiku – Sugar sachet

Sugar sachet

galaxy of stars
god’s ambrosial sandy beach
white pearls washed ashore

Note: I recently found out that Sucrology is the hobby of collecting sugar sachets and/or packets.((1)) Pretty awesome stuff, huh‽ bigsmile Unfortunately, I currently don’t have any time to give it any attention. I had some issues writing/finishing this haiku. I spent several days stewing/working on it, but kept on putting it aside because I was not happy with it and unable to finish it fully. I know – it’s only 3 lines of writing, but seriously – it can be very difficult to finish because there’s only so many words I can use. I finally decided to publish it in is current form after many edits. It is not what I initially had in mind – in fact, it is very different to what I started with. Anyhow, I’m still happy with it, and I think it describes/paints the story of the sugar sachet quite well. I hope you like it too. I think perhaps this haiku can also be titled just “sugar”. Thanks for reading!

Lol, pretty cool term “Sucrology”! I had the habit of reading your haiku content first then the title afterwards :). It makes it even more exciting for me to do so. True enough, I chuckled after seeing the title as I wouldn’t have guessed it! Love it, Padaek, as usual :)

Sucrology? This might come in handy at Trivia night :)

      Hi Jem!

Thanks very much for your comments. I really appreciate it! Sucrology definitely sounds like a Trivia night word to remember. I’ve never really noticed the art on sugar sachets before, but will now try and be more observant of it. Best wishes! :D
