What a stunning photo. The hues of purple fro the sky reflecting on the water as well is just gorgeous. Where did you take this?? It’s so beautiful. Calm but kind of a a wee bit eerie, like a storm is looming?? Amazing how so much emotion can be depicted in one single photo (PS I am not the arty kind at all. I just say what I see / feel!!)

      Hi nagimaehashi,

Thanks very much fro your comment and kind words on the photo. I really appreciate it. Your observation and critique of the photo is lovely! It was taken just near Jervis Bay, south coast. I went on a regular photo walk in mid afternoon, hoping to take some good/interesting photos for this regular Wordless Wednesday post that I do, and along the journey, I managed to take some good photos. Hours later, by the end of the walk, as the sun was setting/disappearing and as I was heading back home, I walked past and up this jetty and looked right and there was this awesome perspective view of the river/canal and a dual image of the puffs of clouds both in the sky and on the water. I had minutes left to capture the image before it got completely dark and impossible to take the photo. The scene/view looks better in real life, and I was really impressed by the calmness of the water and how it reflected the sky/clouds so well. It’s interesting that I took this photo at the end of the walk and I was lucky to walk up that jetty before wrapping up and heading back home. Glad you like the photo. No storm looming, just night arriving. It’s a moody/sombre photo because it’s dark/nearing evening – if only I was there half an hour or an hour earlier but then again, the clouds/scene might not have been there. Are you serious? Judging from how beautiful and well composed your photos are on your site, I think you’re extremely creative and artistic – which is not a bad thing. Thanks again for your comment Nagi – best wishes! :)

Beautifully captured in perfect balance. Incredible peace with that lone light inviting one from the distance . . . shall send to a photographer friend who methinks would enjoy!

      Hi Eha,

Thanks very much for your comment and lovely feedback on this photo. I thought it looked too dark/not well lit enough and questioned about posting it up. But overall, I really like the perspective view of the water and the reflection of the clouds on the water. It was a start of the evening and the place was quiet and peaceful with wild water birdlife around. That’s awesome that you noticed and pointed out that light. I also thought it was a nice element on the photo. It reminds me of the hermit card. Thanks for sharing with your photo friend. Hope they enjoy it. :)

      Hi Julie,

Awesome! Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I really appreciate it. And thank you for your encouraging words on Wordless Wednesday too. To be honest, over the last couple of weeks, I seriously thought about omitting it from the blog, because I thought it was distracting/not relevant to the food nature of the blog and also because it’s quite challenging for me to find and take good/worthy photos for the posts. Sometimes though, and usually when I don’t expect it and/or at the last minute (and if I’m lucky), I stumble on a photo opportunity that is good. Thanks again Julie, I think I will continue Wordless Wednesday for a few more weeks or so. Best wishes. :)

      Hi Jem!

Thanks very much for your lovely comment. I’m glad you like the photo. It was taken at the start of evening/night, so it’s a little dark/not well lit up, but I really like that clear mirror image and soft colours of the clouds and sky. Yep, just mother nature showing off her incredible beauty again, and I was lucky enough to just capture a few shots. :)
